Associated Pathologists, Ltd. is a private practice pathology group founded in 1969, which serves multiple hospitals in central Illinois, with pathologist offices at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL and HSHS St. Mary's hospital in Decatur, IL.

 

The group is comprised of American Board of Pathology Certified pathologists and a pathologists’ assistant. Each of the pathologists maintains a strong general expertise in anatomic and/or clinical pathology. In addition, each pathologist has one or more areas of special interest in subspecialty areas of anatomic and clinical pathology. These include general surgical pathology and its subspecialty areas as well as immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, hematology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, transfusion medicine and cytopathology.

The members of the group also participate in clinical research with the faculty of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and the teaching of medical students and residents at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
